It's 爹地's birthday today!!!

Supposed to celebrate his birthday @ Crystal Jade, but the birthday man preferred to celebrate @ one of the restaurant located in Downtown East... Well, the birthday man's the biggest shot, so the rest of the members had no say...

Bought a little small cake for 爹地 as only 4 adults (妈咪, 爹地, 老公 & me) eating & it's a surprise to the birthday man... Little prince was so impatient while waiting for our food to come... 爹地 brought him to KFC & got him whipped potato... Took some of his impatient expressions...

The food was average & their curry fish doesn't taste that good... 老公 & me would prefer Crystal Jade more than that restaurant...

爹地 was a bit surprised when 妈咪 told him that I've bought a cake for him... Emicakes' mango cake was so yummy (when I 1st tasted it during Little prince's 1st birthday) & bought the same cake... But was kinda disappointed cuz I think that mango was kinda too freezy to consume, not that yummy...

Ok, it's cake cutting time...

Am glad that 爹地 was happy about his birthday celebration... =)

Fetched 妈咪 from Terminal 3 after her work… Little prince was happy to see his grandma when he saw her walking towards us… Drove back 妈咪’s place to take a short rest as the weather was really a killer!!! Both me & little prince fell asleep for an hour while waiting for 爹地 to reach home…

妈咪 & I just couldn’t figured out why little prince always make a big fuss when bathing him there… His 1st time was much worse than today’s… Maybe he’s not familiar with the surrounding (the shower room)? But @ least he’s much much better when 妈咪’s bathing him…

We headed to the newly opended E!Hub (Downtown East) for our dinner & also to explore the premises… Saw this big ferris wheel inside E!Hub from far when we’re approaching the destination… It’s well-lighted with all the beautiful lightings which changes all the time…

Had our dinner @ BBQ Chicken, Korean’s No. 1 Chicken Retaurant… I was drawn to that restaurant for their pinky sofa seats along the glass panels & told 妈咪 & 爹地 to have dinner there… Little prince totally enjoyed himself (playing on the sofa) was behaving very well thru’out… Little prince always looked away when I'm trying to take pics with him...

Isn't he an adorable chap?

The food was ok, just that some of the dishes were not available… Should try their spicy chicken as it looked nice & yummy...

See how happy was little prince & simply LOVE his expressions...

Went over The Crew Room with 老公 as it’s Shawn’s birthday… We were there early & Gracia + Yongming only arrived 12+am, despite Gracia telling me that they would be there around 10+ 11+pm…

Anyway, it’s the 1st time that 老公 went pubbing with me & the rest… Cuz mostly everyone knew that 老公 seldom or not even once joined me & my friends for pubbing or gatherings & I’m glad that 老公 made the effort to join me (been sooooooooo long since me & 老公 went out together, without little prince & bil)…

All of us ‘ganged’ up & made Shawn drink cuz he’s not even 10% drunk, despite he had his other group of friends celebrating for him… It’s more like 1 of his friends’ birthday as his friend’s face was as RED as a lobster… I mean, how can a birthday boy not even tipsy @ all, not to mention drunk… Joel made 1-5-1 (a drink that contains 70% of alcohol from 5 strongest liquor or something like that) for him & the aftereffect of this drink will only come ½ hour later after consumed… And by then, he’s already 80%
level 20 (that’s Shawn’s own drunk chart) drunk… So we’re already ½ way towards our goal of the night…

Joel suggested to continue the night over @ DragonFly & it’s really a SURPRISE that 老公 agreed to it (cuz he had not stepped into DragonFly before)… Gracia + Yongming couldn’t joined us as they still have to work later on… So only the 5 of us went & it’s a real hell of FUN, FUN and nothing but FUN!!! Shawn was still sober (after the 1st session over @ Crew Room) & we continued to make him drink with 3 jugs of Long Island Tea (a treat from Joel’s boss that we bumped into)… I even 破界 & drank 1 glass of Long Island Tea, just cuz THAT Shawn refused to drink when he was asked to (many times from Joel, Aiko & even 老公)… He’s those kind that you need to provoke him to make him ‘pissed’ then he’ll drink… OMG… 1st time I encountered someone like him…

A drunken Shawn?

We ended our night with 点心 @ Geylang @ 6+am (left DragonFly around 5.45 – 6am) & I went home with a tired + tipsy 老公… Mil still thought what happened to me & 老公 when she found out that we’re not even home @ 7+am…

I’m actually very happy to see that老公 can really get along with Joel, Aiko, Gracia + Yongming… So I should be expecting more of these kind of gatherings coming up every fortnight?

To Joel, Aiko, Gracia + Yongming & Shawn:

Thanks for the wonderful & enjoyable night!!! Love ALL the pics that we took!!!
It’s Secretaries Week!

Just came back from a sumptuous lunch treat from my one of my boss @ Novus Restaurant, Bar, Café & Courtyard… It’s located @ National Museum of Singapore, just a less than 10 minutes walk from my office…

They have Local Delights as their set lunch during weekdays… I had linguine carbonara & my boss ordered Oven-baked beef lasagna… We were chatting while waiting for our food to served but it seemed to take the longest time for the food be be right in front of us… And the worse part was they’ve ran out of the beef lasagna & didn’t even notified my boss when we placed our orders… My boss settled for Singapore Laksa in the end had a complimentary dessert without having to top up for the cost difference…

When my boss & I walked into the walkway to the restaurant, we saw this HUGE (I mean REAL HUGE) artistic statue covered with RED cloth... We were saying most people will see 1 area (lifting up your head's view) instead of the statue head... Haha...

To all secretaries out there:

HAPPY SECRETARIES WEEK!!!

May 24 is Singapore's family day

Free tours, ticket discounts usher in inaugural Family Day Out

By Melissa Sim

THE labour movement has a public holiday. So do each of Singapore's major religions. So why not one for families?

The chairman of the National Family Council floated that idea yesterday during a media conference, when he announced that May 24 would be the inaugural Family Day Out.

Although Mr Lim Soon Hock made no guarantees, he said that if Singaporeans came forward and participated in the event, 'at some point in time, we'll lobby for (a public holiday)'.

Family Day Out, to be held on the fourth Saturday each May, is meant to provide a platform for families to spend time together and build strong bonds.

To celebrate the day, 15,000 free rides on the Singapore Flyer, Singapore Ducktours, Hippotours and Rhinotours will be given out. Each ride costs between $16 and $33 on regular days.

Those who are interested have to answer a simple question on www.national familycelebrations.sg

To qualify for the free tickets, families must go with a child aged below 13 or an adult above 55.

Families can also visit the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari and Jurong BirdPark at a discounted rate. For every two paying adults, one child can enter free.

Housewife Donna Cheng, 33, whose family went on a preview of the free Ducktour yesterday, said she was keen on the idea of Family Day Out.

'There are a lot of logistics to get the family out. With more activities planned, we can just take the kids there. It takes the thinking out of it,' said the mother of two.

She also added that going out as a family of five was generally quite costly: 'An attraction costs about $20 a person and for five, that's $100, not including meals.'

National Family Week, which was established in 1985, will also be rebranded the National Family Celebrations (NFC), which will feature a host of activities for the family.

'National Family Week was a misnomer,' said Mr Lim, who co-chairs the NFC 2008 organising committee. 'It's been a month-long campaign for years, so we're using the opportunity to rejuvenate the campaign and take it to a higher level.'

A new public holiday to celebrate the family?

By Melissa Sim

MAKE the fourth Saturday of May a new public holiday to celebrate the family. This suggestion came from the National Family Council chairman Lim Soon Hock on Thursday.

Mr Lim shared his vision at a media conference where he announced that May 24 would be designated Family Day Out.

He then let on that his council has discussed the idea of lobbying for it to be a public holiday.

Whether this will become a reality very much depends on the response from Singaporeans to the first Family Day Out.

'At some point in time, we'll lobby for a public holiday,' he said.

To celebrate Family Day Out, 15,000 free rides on the Singapore Flyer, Singapore Ducktours, Hippotours and Rhinotours, will be given out. Each ride costs between $16 on regular days.

To qualify for the free tickets, families must go with a child under 13-years-old, or an adult above 55-years-old.

There will also be a carnival organised at the Singapore Flyer.

Families can also visit the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari and Jurong BirdPark at a discounted rate - for every two paying adults, one child can enter free.

Housewife Donna Cheng, 33, whose family got a taste of the free Ducktour on Thursday, said she was keen on the idea of Family Day Out.

'There are a lot of logistics to get the family out. With more activities planned, we can just take the kids there. It takes the thinking out of it,' said the mother of two.

She also added that going out as a family of five was generally quite costly.

National Family Week will also be re-branded as National Family Celebrations (NFC), which will have a host of activities for the family.
